Best Book You've Read This Year

I've read a lot of books this year. More than most years. Mostly I read young adult novels, and some of my favorites this year were:

Every Crooked Pot by Rene Rosen
Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature by Robin Brande
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes
by Chris Crutcher (which came out years ago but I just re-read it last month)

Also by Crutcher -- his latest, called DEADLINE. I'm in the middle of this one right now.

What have you read this year that you'd recommend?

WICKED LOVELY by Melissa Marr. Such beautiful prose *and* a great story. The perfect combination. :)

I have that one on my list -- need to read it!

Melissa Marr jointly began a wonderful community called Fangs, Fur, Fey some time ago now (don't know if you've heard of it or visited?) but I reckon you and your book would fit in pretty well over there. You should check it out - as a soon-to-be-published author you'd be eligible to join. :)

"Best" is just too damn hard. Two recent novels I've liked are A Cry of Angels by Jeff Fields, an older one recently reissued that I hadn't read, and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.
